The Information Technology department is headed by
Tommy J. Oliver.
The Department of Information Technology oversees the acquisition,
implementation, maintenance and planning of the City's technology
systems. Local cable Channel 3 is provided through the IT
department to distribute information to city residents. Other
responsibilities of the department include design of the city's web
page and support of intermunicipal projects.
Computer Division
The main goal of the Computer Services Division of the Information
Technology Department is to strive to ensure 100% uptime for the
computer systems that support employees of the City of La Vergne.
Glenn Green, Technical Systems Specialist, focuses on repair and
troubleshooting of the City's computer hardware and software,
network and telephone systems.
Purchasing of all computer related equipment for the City of La
Vergne, falls under the discretion of the computer services division.
The computer services division supports intermunicipal projects
with Smyrna, Murfreesboro and Rutherford County.
Television Division
The Television Services section of the Information Technology is
solely responsible for the content and production on local
government access Channel 3.
Job openings, city events, city council meetings, and general
information pertaining to the city can be viewed 24 hours a day.
The programming airs on Comcast Channel 3 in La Vergne.
Jerry Davenport, Media Tech Specialist, designs content for the
channel, films council meetings as well as a weekly informational
programs. This position oversees the daily operations of the Channel.
