Light Up La Vergne - Holiday Lights Contest
The City of La Vergne would like to announce the 2018 "Light up La Vergne" Holiday Lights Contest. We are looking for homeowners who have the spirit of Christmas and a little bit of Clark Griswold in them to participate in our holiday lights contest.
The Light up La Vergne contest runs from December 1 through December 18. All participants should be willing to share their home address and family name. We also hope all participants will leave up their lights through the new year so folks can check out their holiday lights.
Participation is free. Applications will be accepted through Thanksgiving Day. We ask all
How to Vote
As a way to give back this holiday season, we are turning the voting portion of the competition into a charity drive.
For every dollar spent residents will be able to cast one vote. For example, a $10 stuffed animal will give a resident 10 votes to cast. Residents are asked to bring in receipts for items purchased to accurately allocate votes. Residents will also be able to split any and all votes they have. For example, someone with 10 votes could theoretically vote for 10 different houses.
Anyone who wants to vote is asked to bring an item on the list below that will be donated to the Fraternal Order of Police Priest Lodge #85 program "Christmas for Kids and Seniors." at the end of the competition. Only items on the list or items approved by our Public Relations Specialist will be accepted.
- New toys, Stuffed Animals, Lego Sets, etc. (every toy item has a $20 limit)
- Toiletries (toothbrush, toothpaste, deodorant, shampoo and conditioner, hair combs and brushes)
- Winter Hats, Gloves, Scarves and Socks
- Non-perishable food items (canned goods, cereal bars, soup, pasta, tuna, beans, etc.)
