Civic Auditorium

Previously located at 283 Old Nashville Highway, the Civic Auditorium was previously a combined grammar and high school before becoming exclusively a grammar school.

The original building burned, then was rebuilt as an elementary block school - which also burnt in 1961. Students then attended school at the barracks of Sewart Air Force Base while the county built LaVergne Primary School on Stones River Road.

The Men's Club - in turn - rebuilt the Civic Auditorium into the beautiful building it is today. The building served as a multi-use facility for civic functions and programs for many years.

The Civic Auditorium functioned as administrative offices for the Fire Department until May 2022 when Fire Administration moved to 468 Stones River Road to prepare for construction of a new Fire Station 41 and Administrative Offices on the Civic Auditorium site.
