A global healthcare and logistics company is just one of the many companies looking to expand in La Vergne. Cardinal Health, Inc. plans to construct a new facility that would bring a $21.3 million capital investment and nearly 100 new jobs to La Vergne. The new location would service the pharmaceutical business segment and would also be home to a customer support center and specialty pharmacy. At Wednesday’s meeting, the IDB board approved a seven-year tax abatement for Cardinal Health totaling about $721,000
Meanwhile, a La Vergne-based engineering and manufacturing company plans to expand even more by investing $3.2 million in La Vergne. The Automationnth expansion would add 34 new jobs with salaries averaging $60,000 and would allow the company to optimize manufacturing equipment by providing engineering services and control panel fabrication and assembly. The IDB approved a five-year tax abatement totaling about $179,000.
The third company, currently labeled Project Bear due to a non-disclosure agreement, would bring more than 200 jobs in both headquarter and distribution capacities. IDB approved a property tax break for the company behind Project Bear, which is looking to relocate its headquarters.
