"Every kid would see the big red truck and want to be a firefighter. It was something I have always wanted to do," says La Vergne Firefighter Josh Dickson. But as a kid he would never imagine how challenging being a firefighter could be: "Every 24 hour shift holds something else."
Dickson came to the La Vergne Fire Department in 2013 and is also a certified fire inspector. To him, it is always rewarding to have the support of the community here. "People come by the station to say thank you and want to know how they can help." Dickson and his wife just celebrated their first anniversary and are expecting their first child in January.
The city would like to thank Josh Dickson for his service to La Vergne. Fire prevention week starts Oct 9th! Be sure to check your smoke detectors. Need a smoke detector? Call or stop by one of our fire halls for more info!
