Vice-Mayor Brown is a full-time Business Analyst and is currently consulting Caterpillar Financial, Inc., mainly focusing on information security and regulatory compliance.

In 2018, Vice-Mayor Brown began serving as the chairperson for the Greenway Advisory Committee. Previously, she served as the Economic Development Committee Chairperson from 2014-2018 and was instrumental in presenting the need to hire full-time staff dedicated to the economic development efforts. She has also proudly served as the emcee for the Miss La Vergne pageants for 2016, 2017, and 2018.

When Vice-Mayor Brown first decided to run for office she wanted to step up to be a voice for the people of La Vergne. She continues to keep her focus on keeping La Vergne one of the best and most affordable places to live in Middle Tennessee.

Vice-Mayor Brown first moved to La Vergne in 1983 as a second-grade student and began attending La Vergne Primary School, eventually graduating in the top 10 percent of her class from La Vergne High School in 1993. Vice-Mayor Brown earned her Associates Degree in Information Technology from Motlow State Community College in May of 2015 and was a member of Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from Middle Tennessee State University in May of 2018 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technologies.

A champion for higher education, she encourages adults to finish their degree through the TNReconnect program and volunteers as a mentor with the TNAchieves program, which is geared towards helping high school students navigate through enrollment into college. She especially enjoys encouraging working adults and single parents to return to college and recognizes the challenges they face because she is both a working adult and a single mother.

As a long-time resident, she has a vested interest in the community and views all its residents as neighbors. She encourages citizens to reach out to her by phone, text, e-mail, or in person.
